9.5.7 Reporting And Supporting Guidance
The assessment report should contain enough information for another competent assessor to understand the work and make a meaningful comparison. It should identify the purpose, client, responsible assessor, source and site conditions, applicable limits, method, measurement equipment and calibration status, software and version, settings, input data, assumptions, post-processing, uncertainty, results, and conclusions.
The appendices expand the core process with practical guidance on broadband and frequency-selective instruments, personal monitors, current measurements, near-field surveys, computational techniques, uncertainty budgets, measurement errors, and survey hazards. Worked examples cover an RF welder, a mobile telephone base station, a home Wi-Fi router, an advanced-metering installation, and base-station SAR.
These examples illustrate how the assessment process may be documented, but they are not universal templates. The assessor must adapt the method to the source, exposure scenario, current technology, and governing requirements.
9.5.8 Using AS/Nzs 2772.2 With Rps S-1
For an Australian assessment, the governing requirements should be established first from RPS S-1 and any law, regulation, license condition, or workplace obligation that adopts it. This determines the exposure group, applicable quantities and limits, averaging conditions, summation rules, and compliance criteria.
AS/NZS 2772.2 can then be used to plan and perform the technical assessment. Where a more specialized IEC, IEEE, product, or installation standard is better suited to the source, that method may be used, provided its results are interpreted against the legally applicable exposure framework.
The completed assessment provides evidence for decisions about compliance boundaries, controlled areas, access, signage, maintenance conditions, and other protective measures. It does not by itself create an RF safety program; those operational arrangements are addressed in the following chapter.
