10.15.10 Summary

Public protection must not depend on untrained people recognizing and avoiding an RF hazard. Duty holders should identify publicly accessible locations, assess the highest exposure under normal operating conditions, and design the installation so that those locations remain below the general public limits. Where the limits may be exceeded, effective access restriction and compliant signs or notices are required. Shared sites demand clear coordination, and changes to sources, access, or surrounding development trigger review. Suspected or confirmed public overexposure requires prompt medical assessment, technical investigation, corrective action, and the applicable reporting.
