5.1.7 Further Extension Of Array Model Functionality
It is now a relatively simple matter to extend this model to add even greater functionality. For example we might add:
- A number of dimensions to our analysis. Each of these dimensions would define a new forest (or part of the forest) to be managed. For example, we might have, say, eight forests. In this case we create a new dimension 1..8 which we place before the existing dimension 1..152, the latter becoming the enumeration sub-range of the new dimension.
- A sector to manage the foresters needed to plant, maintain and harvest the forest. Foresters would be a limited resource which would constrain labour-intensive activities such as planting, culling and harvesting.
- A commercial sector to manage the expenditure on labour and materials, etc. needed to manage the forest, and the harvesting and sale of timber.
