2.15 SUMMARY
This chapter identified the need to build models which are both necessary and sufficient representations of systemic problems. It explains why it is important to take a modular approach to building system dynamics models. At the most basic level this is a module; a simple structure of system dynamics. We need to define modules consistently and reliably within the context of the overall problem and parts of the problem. Parts of a problem are defined by a sector or sector model whilst a systemic problem is represented by a model. In the next chapter we demonstrate how to build a simple module containing two modules (it is not big enough to be broken into sectors). The model is built and tested to ensure it meets its requirements.
