3.1.5 Building The System Dynamics Model

The structure of the model has been defined and the requirements developed in a top-down process of conceptualisation explained in Chapter 1. In summary, the model is defined by Figures 3-16, 3-17, and 3-18.

Note that at this point we might have developed a detailed specification of the complete model. For the sake of brevity, the detailed specifications are provided for the modules which are yet to be constructed. For more complex models, it would be necessary to develop complete specifications then ensure that traceability of those specifications (interpretations of requirements—derived from stated dynamic hypotheses) is not lost as we subsequently develop and test each of the relevant modules.
