Inter-coder reliability
Intercoder reliability is a measure of the extent to which the cognitive content of a written record, or the cognition of an individual, can be captured by cognitive or concept mapping. The mapping process is less than perfect because it involves the inherent skill of the mapper, in particular, interpretative and communication skills. In the interview situation, the capability of the interviewee to communicate and enunciate complex ideas in causal terms and the skill of the mapper all come into play.
