Double loop learning

Double loop learning occurs when mismatches or errors, expressed as a difference δ between actual and desired states, are corrected by first examining the governing variables. Double loop learning has occurred when we have developed detailed understandings of the mechanisms by which the governing variables produce the observed behaviour: we alter the governing variables and then take corrective action.
