Conflicting link (cognitive or concept map)

Conflict relationships are a special case of the connotative relationship, but where the concepts at the ends of the link cannot co-exist without conflict or a state of stress being created. In this book, the convention used to denote conflict is a solid double line without arrowheads (though in some maps these links may be depicted by dashed lines marked ‘CONFLICT’). Where colour is available, these lines will usually be coloured red. Also see connotative link.
