Polar Orbit

A polar orbit is a satellite orbit in which the orbital plane passes close to the Earth’s north and south poles, corresponding to an inclination of approximately 90°. Polar orbits are most commonly used by LEO satellites and enable global coverage over successive Earth rotations as the planet turns beneath the orbital plane.
