Access Technique
The access technique is the method used in satellite communications by which multiple user terminals share the available bandwidth of a satellite communication channel.
Examples of access techniques include frequency-division multiple access (FDMA), time-division multiple access (TDMA), code-division multiple access (CDMA), or hybrid combinations such as FDMA/TDMA or FDMA/CDMA.
These access techniques may be operated using different capacity-assignment strategies, including demand-assigned multiple access (DAMA) or fixed-assignment schemes such as fixed-assigned multiple access (FAMA), also known as pre-assigned multiple access (PAMA).
