Mobile Satellite Internet

Mobile satellite internet refers to satellite-based Internet access provided to users who require connectivity while moving or operating beyond the reach of terrestrial broadband networks, such as cellular, fiber, or DSL systems. Typical users include maritime, aeronautical, land-mobile, and remote-area customers.

A key constraint of mobile satellite internet is the limited size and gain of user antennas that can be practically carried or installed on mobile platforms. As a result, achievable data rates are generally lower than those of fixed satellite broadband services, and system performance is strongly influenced by antenna size, terminal power, and operating frequency band. Despite these limitations, mobile satellite internet offers wide-area coverage and continuous connectivity in regions where alternative broadband services are unavailable.
