11.5 SKY-WAVE COMMUNICATIONS
As we saw earlier, sky-wave communication utilizes the ionosphere to refract waves back to Earth, providing a mechanism that allows propagation over very large distances. Since sky-wave communications are so dependent on the ionosphere, it is very necessary to study its composition and structure.
