The field GF(5) consists of the integers {0, 1, 2, 3, 4}, with addition and multiplication performed modulo 5. For example: 3 + 4 ≡ 2 (mod 5); 2 + 3 ≡ 0 (mod 5); 4 × 3 ≡ 2 (mod 5); and 2 × 4 ≡ 3 (mod 5).
